Your Social Security payment will arrive in this week if you are part of this group
Those Americans who are waiting to get a new Social Security payment may be able to collect it as early as this week. The United States Benefit Administration will send new checks to a specific group of citizens who have not yet gotten their retirement check in March.
The payment of this benefit is only for group 2 beneficiaries. In this group, only some Americans who meet certain requirements can collect the benefit. The rest of the beneficiaries will have to wait for a different day to collect the Social Security payment this month.
Still, it is true that some beneficiaries have already gotten their payment in the month of March. It all depends on the group of retirees to which we belong. For each group of retirees there is a different payment day and this time we have to comply with two requirements if we want to get our Social Security check this week.
Which American retirees collect Social Security this week?
The new Social Security payment day is March 13th. On this day, the Administration will send eligible retirees in the United States a new check in the amount of up to $4,873. But not all Americans will be able to enjoy this payment.
In order to collect this benefit, two requirements must be met. If we meet them, the payment will be ours. If not, it means that we do not belong to group 2 of beneficiaries, but to a different group.
The requirements are to have a benefit since after May 1997 (including the month of May of that year) and to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th. In addition, in order to be able to collect the payment on the same day that the Administration sends it, we must activate Direct Deposit.
Remaining retirement payments in March 2024
The March 13th payment is not the last check the Social Security Administration will send out this month. After that day there are other remaining payments that will arrive in eligible retirees’ checking accounts.
The next day will be March 20th. In order to collect a check on this day, it will also be necessary to have the benefit since after May 1997. It is also mandatory to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month.
On the other hand, the last payment day of March will be the 27th. On this day, beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st will collect their new Social Security benefit. However, it is also necessary to have applied for the benefit since after 1997.
