Get the new Social Security today if you meet the requirements
Today is payment day for thousands of United States citizens who have a Social Security benefit. This type of benefit does not reach all Americans, as certain requirements must be met. In other words, only a specific group can collect today’s new payment.
Even so, those Americans who do not have access to the March 20th payment but do have a Social Security check have nothing to worry about. In the retirement check payment schedule, there are up to four different days.
This means that if we do not have access to the payment on this day we will have it on a different one. The important thing in these cases is to know the payment calendar. If we know this payment schedule, we can have access to a much better organization of our household finances.
However, remember that it is not only the day on which the Social Security Administration sends the payments that matters. We must also take into account the collection method we have chosen. By controlling all of these details, we can have better golden years.
Who gets Social Security today?
In order to get a Social Security payment on the 20th of March 20th we will have to meet two mandatory requirements. Also, there is a third requirement related to the method of collection, as we have already discussed. This makes a total of three mandatory requirements to get the check on the same day the Administration sends it.
These requirements are:
- Have a Social Security benefit as of May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- Have Direct Deposit activated.
If you meet these requirements, the payment on March 20th will be sent immediately to your bank account. If we do not meet the third requirement but we are part of this group of retirees, the money will appear in the next three days.
Likewise, if we are not part of this group, the Social Security money could arrive on the 27th of March. That day will be the last payment day of the month, so after that we will have to wait until April to be able to collect one of the new checks.
