The first of the payments for post-May 1997 retirees will arrive soon in the United States. The Social Security Administration will send this new payment to those Americans who are eligible. To be eligible we must be part of retiree group 2.
And we only have to meet two requirements to be part of this group. So if you meet these two requirements, the Social Security Administration will send you this new check. If not, the monthly payment will still arrive, but in later days. It is also possible to have gotten the check.
Social Security has already arrived for Group 1 retirees. If you are part of that group, you should already have the money available. If you are in group 1 and do not have the money available, you may have to claim it.
How do I get my February 21st Social Security?
To receive the February 21 Social Security payment we must have two mandatory requirements. These two requirements are related to the date of retirement and the birthday of each retiree.
To be exact, we have to meet these two requirements:
- Have a birthday between the 11 and 20 of any month.
- Have applied for Social Security retirement from May 1997 onwards.
There is no other mandatory extra requirement to get this day’s payment. However, if we want to get the check as soon as possible, we must activate Direct Deposit. While this is not mandatory, it does speed up the receipt of the monthly Social Security money. If we do not have it activated, the money will arrive a few days later.
Upcoming retirement payments in February 2024
In addition to the February 21 payment, the Social Security Administration will be sending out new payments to retirees in the month of February. In addition to the last payment on the 2nd day of February, for pre-May 1997 retirees or 14 for born of 1 – 10, the Administration will send out two more payments.
There are two more payments to be aware of, so watch the calendar closely:
- February 28th. Retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st with a benefit after May 1997 get Social Security on this day.
After the 28th payment, we will have to wait until March to get the new benefit. Remember that the maximum Social Security check as of today is $4,873, although it all depends on the history of each beneficiary.
