United States citizens are about to get the last Social Security check
The second U.S. Social Security payment, in February 2024, is very close. Receiving this payment will depend on the group of retirees to which we belong. If we belong to a particular group we may receive up to $4,873 in just a few days. But if not, we should already have the check on February 14 or 2, the latter for those who retired before 1997.
If we want to collect this Social Security benefit in the next week we must meet two requirements. In these requirements we find on the one hand one related to the date of retirement and another related to the day of birth. The Administration divides retirees into four different groups based on these two personal data.

WHO CAN COLLECT THE LAST SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT IN 2023?
It is essential to meet the two requirements mentioned above. And these requirements are, on the one hand, the year of retirement and, on the other hand, the day of birth. If we take this into account, we can very easily determine whether we will collect the benefit in the next week.
In summary, the two requirements to collect this last Social Security check in 2024 are:
- Have a retirement benefit since after 1997. And it doesn’t matter if the payment is disability or otherwise. What matters is that the check be accepted after that year.
- Have a birthday between the 11th and 21st of that month. Retirees collecting this payment must have been born between those days. And it doesn’t matter if the month of birth is May, September or December. The only thing that matters is the day as such.
To receive the check we must have Direct Deposit active, otherwise it may arrive three days later as stated on the Social Security website.
In short, if we want to have the Social Security payment as soon as possible we must activate this payment method. Otherwise, we will only have to wait a few days until the money is available in our bank account. Therefore, the choice of this payment method depends directly on what we choose, so it is totally optional.
