You have to meet two requirements to get the new Social Security payment
The Social Security payment schedule in the United States lists the days on which we can get paid each month. In total, there are four payment days during each month and in order to get one check or the other we have to meet certain requirements.
It is not possible to get more than one of these payments per month, so we must know the calendar well in order to know on which day we will collect our check. Even so, it is true that on more than one occasion we run into some irregularities in the calendar. But it is not usual for this to happen.
In the case of March we have only had one irregularity at the beginning of the month. The first of this month’s payments went out a few days earlier than usual. However, the rest of the checks went out on the established date.
If we have not yet gotten our March Social Security payment, it is because we are in group 3 or 4 retirees. Those groups are the ones who will be getting their benefits this week and next week. Which group of retirees do you belong to?
Social Security payments for retirees born between March 11 and 20
On the upcoming March 20th, the Social Security Administration will send out the new retirement payments to your beneficiaries. As we have already mentioned, this payment is for group 3 retirees and this group has two main characteristics.
On the one hand, it is mandatory to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month. On the other hand, it is necessary to have the benefit accepted after May 1997. By only meeting these two requirements, we will be part of this group of beneficiaries.
Likewise, the collection method we have chosen is essential to get the check earlier or later. If we get the payment through Direct Deposit, the check will appear immediately. If not, we will have to wait a few days until we get the Social Security check in our checking account.
As for the type of benefit, it does not matter whether you get the payment sooner or later. That is, it doesn’t matter if our benefit is for disability, retirement, or another reason for being in Social Security group 3.
