Matthew Perry Leaves $1 Million to Trust Named After Woody Allen Role

by admin

Matthew Perry designated over $1 million to the trustees of the “Alvy Singer Living Trust,” which is named after the main character Woody Allen portrayed in his 1977 film Annie Hall.

According to legal documents obtained by Rolling Stone, the will (which was signed by Perry in 2009) outlines that the “residue and remainder” of the actor’s estate should be distributed to the unnamed trustees and notes that the arrangement was dated “June 2, 1999, as amended and restated in its entirety earlier this date, between me, as Settlor, and me, as sole Trustee.” In the will, Perry also notes that the will “may be further amended from time to time (the ‘Trust’), to be held, administered and distributed according to its terms, including any amendments hereafter made to the Trust during my lifetime.”

An amount of $1,030,000 is allocated to the trust and lists Lisa Ferguson and Robin Ruzan, who is Mike Myers’ ex-wife, as executors of Perry’s will.

Reps for Perry and Allen did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s requests for comment.

The beloved actor, who played Chandler Bing on the sitcom Friends, died Oct. 28, 2023 at the age of 54. The Los Angeles medical examiner later announced that he died from the “acute effects of ketamine.” According to an autopsy report, the “high levels of ketamine” found in Perry’s blood at the time of his death likely resulted in the Friends actor lapsing “into unconsciousness,” which in turn caused him to drown.

The facility operated for two years before it was closed in 2015.

Following his death, an outpouring of tributes were shared from his Friends co-stars, Hollywood, and fans. “Oh boy this one has cut deep… Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before,” Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel on the show, wrote. “He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be.”
