John Cena Reveals Planned WWE Role After Retirement

John Cena has an idea of what he wants to do for WWE after his in-ring retirement and it expands on something he currently does.

Although Cena hasn’t set a date for his retirement, he recently revealed that he believes he’ll retire at 50 years of age.

He also pitched the idea of retiring at London’s O2 Arena, being an advocate for WWE WrestleMania in London, England.

This would give WWE around three years to make the 47-year-old’s dream a reality, but his vision stretches beyond that target.

During his appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, Cena revealed his post-retirement dream, saying:

“What I would love to give to the business is just my time, and I live very close to the Performance Center, and I would like to go in as a guest, that way I’m not obligated and they’re not obligated in any way, it’s stuff I do in my free time anyway.

“I love going in and just picking people’s brains, having conversations about ‘who are you?’ and them being like ‘what does that have to do with anything?’ Only everything, let’s talk.

“I enjoy that, doing half a day there then going back to a normal life. I don’t know what I’ll do, I’m fortunate enough to have some other stuff going on, I’ll be focusing on that too, but I always want to be involved in the business.

“I get so passionate about it and it’s something that I love and I think I have a few pieces of wisdom that need to be passed on and I don’t think they should die with me.”

During the interview, Cena also reflected on Logan Paul joining WWE and how he would have viewed it ten years ago compared to what he thinks in the context of the modern day.

He also explored his own WWE debut, reflecting on being ‘neither ruthless nor aggressive‘ during the ruthless aggression promo that kickstarted an era.

With WrestleMania 40 taking place in April 2024, Cena has revealed he’s free over that weekend.
