If you’re attending Bett 2025, here are my recommendations.
Main Events in The Arena
The Arena is where Bett’s brightest ideas and most engaging conversations unfold. Kicking off the conference on January 22nd at 9:30 AM is actor and comedian Stephen Fry, who will join computer scientist Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon in a keynote titled “The Human Approach to AI.” Together, they’ll explore how education can harness AI’s potential without losing sight of the relationships and creativity that make learning meaningful. Fry’s wit and Imafidon’s expertise will combine to offer a session that is both entertaining and deeply insightful.
On January 23rd, Rose Luckin, a professor and founder of Educate Ventures, will deliver her keynote, “AI: Learn Fast, Act More Slowly.” In what will be a thought-provoking talk, she’ll emphasize the importance of adopting AI deliberately and ethically in education. Luckin’s work bridges research and real-world application. Her insights are invaluable for anyone navigating AI in schools.
The Kids Judge Bett event, held on January 24th at 3:00 PM, is a firm favorite. Celebrating its 10th year, this event takes a unique approach by allowing students to explore exhibitor booths and select their favorites. Hosted by beloved children’s author Michael Rosen, it’s a chance to see what innovations truly resonate with young learners.
I will be keynoting in the Arena again this year with “Infinite Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on January 24th at 9:30 AM. This session will examine how AI will impact the world in the coming years and explore what kind of education system we need to meet this challenge.
