The optimal approach might be a core team working together physically, supplemented by remote team members who can maintain momentum across different time zones.” Of course, the design of the work process will vary based on industry. However, collaboration is the universal theme here.
Why Companies Are Pushing for Return to Office: It’s Not a Punishment
The pivot toward RTO is not solely a reaction to AI’s capabilities—it’s also a recognition of its limitations. While AI can automate routine work, the platform struggles with:
- Creative Ideation: AI generates ideas, but it lacks the human insight and originality necessary for breakthrough innovations. At least, so far.
- Emotional Intelligence: AI cannot build relationships, resolve conflicts, or foster trust the way humans can. Responding in the moment is still your job.
- Contextual Understanding: AI often misses nuances and subtleties, especially in complex decision-making scenarios.
- Decision-making: the ability to consider all aspects of a particular challenge and decide how to move forward is still a uniquely human task.
